ERGObaby Performance Carrier

What it is: When the Ergo carrier first came on the market it was a great alternative to the BabyBjörn or slings that dominated at the time. Over the years the playing field has gotten a lot more crowded, but the ERGObaby carrier is still praised for its long-wearing comfort for both parents and babies. The Performance model takes that comfort to a new level because it’s a full one-third lighter than ERGObaby’s standard carrier. The Performance also gets high marks for being easy to put on and take off, as well as for letting you wear the baby comfortably either as a front or back carrier (we know several fathers who loved the ERGObaby because it saved them from unmanly walk-arounds with a baby sticking out from their chest).

What to watch out for: Until the baby is around 4 months and has good head support, you need to use an infant insert that can be too bulky and hot for warmer climates.
